Is Bench-pressing Your Body Weight Equivalent To Doing A Push-up?
I need to know if bench-pressing your body weight is the same or atleast similar to doing a push-up.

No. Bench-pressing your body weight is much more difficult than doing push-ups. When doing push-ups you are not lifting all of your body weight because your hands and feet are resting on the floor.
Nooooo, because your center of gravity is not the same. It would be the same if you could do it while hovering and just using your arms, but with a push up…you have your feet on the floor and your back flat. Bench pressing…you push just from your chest.
No, But they both work-out the same muscle.
its harder than a push up, in a push up youre only lifting the weight of your upper body minus the weight of your arms, it would be closer to doing a push up leaned against a wall and standing on youre head
no becuz whn u do a push up ur not liftin all ur weight becuz ur feet r on the goround so it makes it alot easier to do a push ups.
No.
Similar but not the same. Your feet on the ground takes some of the weight off.
a push up is less, because you have one other weight distribution point – your feet.
not really , its easier to do a push up
No, benching is more because a push-up the weight is divided because half of it’s on your legs, bench is all arms / chest
Yeah, what everyone else said. However, I do think the two exercises work very similar muscle groups. It’s just the bench focuses the weight there whereas a pushup distributes your weight in such a manner that you are not pushing your full bodyweight.
Either is much better than nothing though.
