Is It Possible To Lose Weight (fat), Whilst Maintaining All Of Your Current Lean Body Mass…..?
I know when you lose weight (fat), you tend to lose some muscle too. Is it possible to maintain all your lean body mass when losing weight by increasing protein intake and lifting weights? TIA.
Actually… you don’t have to lose fat when you lose muscle. It is definitely possible to maintain your lean body mass, as long as when you are losing the fat, you are exercising. Eat a diet thats 20% protein, 20% fat,and 60% carbs… make it good fats lean proteins & complex carb diet with plenty of fiber and water, and then exercise!! Do cardio of course, 30 minutes a day minimum (That includes walking, jogging, running, biking, elliptical machine, etc.), and do weight training a few times a week to keep your muscle and lean body mass! Make sure you do upper & lower body weight machines and lifting.
Orlistat. A medication that stops the body from digesting fat, therefore not reducing your lean body mass. As your body is not digesting fat if you eat any fatty food it will make your poo float. Feacal urgency is a side effect but then again everything comes with a cost!
yes you can gain muscle mass and lose fat at the same time, but your muscle gains will be slower. lift heavy, eat lots of protein, get lots of sleep, drink lots of water, and manage you fats and carbs so you can lose weight with only minimal cardio.
No, you do not lose muscle when you diet.
The body burns fat to produce energy if you eat less calories than you use.
If you excercise you build muscle and the more muscle you have the more calories you need to function so you burn fat faster if you keep eating the same.
You do not need extra protein if you have a balanced diet, just fewer calories, (less fat is good)
People only break down muscle for energy when all the fat is used up. This is very unhealthy but think anorexia or starvation not normal dieting.
