Any Tips For Gaining Weight Through Muscle-mass And Building Endurance And Body Strength?

I am quite unfit, and i need to start slowly on my endurance and overall body strength for my naval application.
I’ve started jogging a short distance nearly every day. and i started doing push-ups and dumbell exercises as well.
Is there anything else i can do to build my strength and endurance before basic training hits me?

The best thing to do is to use weights for muscle mass and cardio workout for endurance, and for body strength use weights also. For example, for muscle mass why not bench press, which will help you gain muscle in your shoulders, triceps, and chest. Next deadlift with straight bar. This will give you muscle mass and body strength all the way from your neck to feet. Also do power-cleans. This will develop muscle and body strength all through out you body. Ok those are some of the exercises I recommend for muscle mass and body strength. For endurance, keep doing your jogging and with that do suicides. Suicides are basically running from one point to another touching the floor once you are at the point. You can also do a lot of free laps in swimming. Finally jump rope a lot.
